Witt-Lippincott Team

Just a few days ago, we counted 9 sale transactions for the Witt-Lippincott Team in January.  As of today, there are 12!  Great year so far!   Congratulations, Team!  Lori and Bill are tops!

This new season is picking up! The Witt-Lippincott Team already has nine properties under agreement in the first month of the year! This activity bodes well for 2012 when interest rates remain so low and predictions are that they will remain low. What a good time for buyers to get excellent deals on the purchase of a new house! And more activity may mean quicker sales for sellers. We look forward to doing good business for our clients in 2012.

We’ve been experiencing continuing rains along with a hurricane event called Irene that are more extreme than anything I have seen since I came to Philadelphia in 1965. It may be that this sort of rain/flooding phenomenon won’t happen again in a very long time. If you are thinking of buying a house, however, you would be wise to ascertain what, if any, kind of flooding experience the house you like has gone through. Some houses never get water, much less flooding. Others take a little water in their basements in heavy rains. Yet others have chronic water penetration. Find out what the seller’s experience has been. Perhaps they have taken appropriate steps to control water. Ask neighbors about flooding history on the block or in the neighborhood. Getting water in a basement is not unusual, but it is important to understand its extent and to know how to control it.

It’s becoming more and more popular to have your own bar code reader.  In real estate, too, you will start to see barcodes on listings that will immediately give you all the stats you need to know about a property.  You just need an app on your smart phone.   And it’s free.  If I can do it, you can do it!  THere are lots of sites that will enable you to download the app.  I used one called ScanLife.  Go to www.scanlife.com on your browser and follow the instructions.  You’ll be glad you did.
