“We’re ecstatic that we have a Lotto jackpot winner in Connecticut’s game,” said CT Lottery President and CEO Greg Smith. “This will certainly be life-changing for someone. We can’t wait to congratulate the winner in person. This win was also good for our retailer, Stop & Shop. The Lotto game’s jackpot, whether $25 million or $1 million, will always be life changing. We encourage players to stay in the game.”
Jackpot winners have the choice of receiving their winnings either as an annuity (21 payments), or one-time cash lump sum. Players have 180 calendar days, or until April 29, 2020, to claim their prizes.
Tickets can be checked online at CTLOTTERY.ORG, by scanning in a lottery Ticket Checker, by using the official CT Lottery Mobile App, or at any lottery retailer location.
The Lotto jackpot is won by matching all six winning numbers drawn. A Lotto ticket costs $1 and players select six numbers between 1 and 44, or they can ask for a Lotto "Quick Pick" to let the computer randomly pick their numbers. The overall odds of winning a Lotto prize are 1 in 39.3. Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 7.1 million.
Lotto drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 10:38 PM and televised on WCCT-TV. On drawing nights, wagering closes at 10:20 PM and reopens at 10:46 PM.
