$2.2 Million Lotto Jackpot-Winning Ticket Purchased at Shell in Hamden for Friday, April 24, DrawingROCKY HILL, CT / April 29, 2020 – Of the 6,511 winning tickets sold for the Friday, April 24, 2020, Lotto jackpot drawing, one contained a six-number match worth $2.2 million (a lump-sum value of $2,039,304). The numbers drawn that night were 2 – 7 – 8 – 12 – 17 – 24.  The jackpot-winning ticket was sold at Shell Hamden, located at 1994 Whitney Ave, in Hamden. For its part in selling the winning ticket, that Shell location will receive a $10,000 retailer commission.


The Lotto jackpot is won by matching all six winning numbers drawn.  A Lotto ticket costs $1 and players select six numbers between 1 and 44, or they can ask for a Lotto "Quick Pick" to let the computer randomly pick their numbers.  The overall odds of winning a Lotto prize are 1 in 39.3.  Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 7.1 million.

Lotto drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 10:38 PM and televised on WCCT-TV.  On drawing nights, wagering closes at 10:20 PM and reopens at 10:46 PM.
