Connecticut Lottery Corporation Returns a Best-Ever $418 Million to Connecticut General Fund in Fiscal Year 2021The Connecticut Lottery Corporation returned a record $418 million (unaudited) to the Connecticut General Fund in the 2021 fiscal year (July 2020 - June 2021). In addition, Lottery sales outpaced last year, reaching $1.5 billion in total sales, compared to $1.3 billion in fiscal year 2020. These strong sales and general fund transfers represent the best results ever in the Lottery’s history.

The CT Lottery’s results were led by steady instant ticket sales, continued growth in Keno sales, and the new Fast Play games, which reached $37 million in total sales in their first year. The Play3 and Play4 games – following the addition of the new Wild Ball feature -- also recorded solid sales.

Consistent with its dedication to promoting responsible gambling, the CT Lottery continued its support of $2.3 million to the CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) Chronic Gamblers Treatment and Rehabilitation Fund. The CT Lottery also sponsored various responsible gambling efforts throughout the year in collaboration with the Partnership members – the CT Council on Problem Gambling and the Problem Gambling Services department at DMHAS.

“We are very proud of these results, especially in light of the many adjustments that we encountered during the year,” said Greg Smith, President of the Connecticut Lottery Corporation.  “Our dedicated staff members remained focused on keeping up with this incredible growth.  And our retailers were equally dedicated in operating each day.  We are very thankful for their efforts.”
