The CT Lottery is proud to announce that for the second time, it has received the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) “Corporate Newsletter Award." The NCPG presented the award on Friday, July 19, 2019, at its 33rd National Conference on Problem Gambling in Denver, CO.

The CT Lottery submitted Chatter That Matters® (CTM), its quarterly newsletter, to the NCPG for award consideration.  The newsletter is distributed to all CT Lottery employees, CT Lottery board members, leaders in the responsible gaming community, as well as policy makers, and is posted on CTLOTTERY.ORG.  Articles are written by employees from all departments and at every level of the organization.  CTM always features various responsible gambling (RG) initiatives.

The Massachusetts Council on Compulsive Gambling awarded the "Responsible Gambling Award" to Chelsea Turner, then Interim President and CEO of the CT Lottery.  The award was presented on March 20, 2018 at the 2018 Conference on Gambling Problems in Massachusetts.

The annual award is presented to an individual or organization that demonstrates an exemplary effort in implementing or promoting a responsible gambling program within the industry. The award recognizes industry operators that have gone the extra mile to provide information on problem gambling for both their customers and employees. The recipient not only meets, but goes above and beyond the criteria by requiring that all facility employees participate in the responsible gambling program and understands their role in providing assistance to persons in need.
